Saturday

These photos were taken Wednesday and Thursday. The girls are pretty smitten with their baby brother. Both of them have asked to hold him a few times.

Last night Josh's mom brought dinner and stayed with us. It is so nice to have her here. The girls have loved seeing their Nana and having a couple extra hands has really helped us out. I've been able to rest throughout today and feel really good.

Jayten got his first bath today and he screamed the whole time. Hopefully he'll start enjoying them soon. The girls have always liked their baths.

Can't believe our little man is four days old already. I noticed his hands and feet are already starting to fill out. It's a subtle change, but I am seeing it. I said something to Mackenzie about it making me sad, and she "He's supposed to change and get bigger, Mom. That's a good thing." Yes, it is a good thing, but I think she'll understand how it also makes me a little sad when she becomes a mom herself someday.

A little movie

Here's a little movie of Jayten taken on Thursday.

3-day checkup

This morning we headed to Nampa for our 3-day check-up at the birthing center. Both of us checked out great. Jayten still weighs 7 lbs., so he hasn't gained weight since Wednesday, but he hasn't lost more either. He is starting to eat a lot more so I'm sure he'll get back to his birth weight in no time. We also had his hearing screening, which he passed.

Contest winners

So, I guess I forgot to announce the baby stats winners!

My sister Lacey guessed the right day-Feb. 3. Erin was the closest with the weight, off by an oz. and my dad was closest to the length by a 1/2 inch. Dad, you can come get your prize when you visit and I'll be putting the others in the mail. :)

Two days old

"My Baby, Mine?!"

Nothing better than a Daddy and his Son

Josh is a great dad (and hubby too). He's always been good with the girls. Every time he comes home, I hear the Daddy chant, "Dad dy, Dad dy, Dad dy!" I think it makes his day. I've always loved seeing them together. And seeing Josh with Jayten is very special. I love watching them together and hearing him talk to him. It melts my heart. I pray they share a great father/son relationship always.
